Wednesday Wants: Retro Rock n’ Roll Nursery

I really like the Wednesday Wants nursery themes – I get to live a little vicariously!  So here’s for your budding musicians with a little bit of grown-up added in.  I went with a baby boy theme (well more baby boy than baby girl). Go to the treasury to buy some of these treasures.

On the walls: Have a collection of cool old vinyl records? – show case them as wall art in this nursery! Or buy a lot and intersperse the records with the framed album covers, add some old concert posters to the walls, of course a customized “Rolling Stones Magazine” cover with your babies photo, and finish with the record wall clock.

Furniture:  What rocker room is complete without leather and zebra print? Use black leather vintage furniture as your nursing area, cozy it up with snake skin print throw pillows.  The zebra print minky is perfect for baby in the crib or as a play mat on the floor.  I love the idea of an old record rack holding skinny Dr. Suess books and use vintage record boxes for needed toy storage.

For extra decoration in the room add the vintage microphone, record player, drum with personalized drumsticks (you know you’ll get sick of hearing drumming throughout the day but your kiddo will LOVE it), and guitar next to the leather couch and on bookshelves.  I can just picture Dee dressed in a boa and some of my black heels wailing to one of Dad’s songs while holding the microphone.

Since ideas for a baby mobile are hard to come by I also thought a cool twist would be to buy lots of guitar picks (different plastic colors) and center it with the cute “I pick you” one here.  You could even cross some drumsticks and hang the picks from those – cool huh?

And last, but not least, your little rocker needs some hip clothing if they’re going to be the next big star so why not outfit them right in a retro concert tee converted to either a toddler shirt or onesie? (from tumblewee of course).  I’d suggest “The Beatles” shirt we have posted right now.
