Fashion Friday: Little Boys Graphic Tees

It’s fashion friday!

It’s funny, both Meg and I are transitioning right.  I’m right in the middle of figuring our my graduate school acceptance and starting summer classes.  Meg just got back from her 3-4 month stay in China for her PHD work, which is why our posts have been a little light(not our usual) as of late.  I thought it would be fun to share with you my favorite thing right now for Jax . . .

GRAPHIC TEES

We’ve pretty much transitioned to using only t-shirts and pants/shorts for Jax.  I find using two pieces easier with a squirmy one year old who won’t lay on his back for anything anymore . . . not even changing a diaper.  It’s a game of finding something that will occupy him while I change his diaper (or his clothes) or I’m chasing after him with a diaper, which he loves being chased.

I’ve found a lot of cute tees at target, old navy, carter’s, and of course WE MAKE THEM!  I shared with you some of our recent creations last week.  If you have a shirt that you want upcycled to a cute baby, toddler, or children’s tee, contact us at our shop or via email  for details.  Here are a few cute ones I found that I’m eying for Jax:

i actually bought this one in Target for really cheap, like $5.

This is supper cute. Love the bright neon color, which is totally popular this summer. Carter’s Tee – $10.50

ummm . . . don’t mom’s rock! of course they do. :) Carter’s Tee – $6

back of the above shirt.

So you get the idea . . . :)  We sometimes go through a couple shirts a day.  What can I say – Jax plays like a little boy, plus he’s learning to eat like a big kid.  So we are both messy often!

Have a great weekend!

Fashion Friday: Celebration!

It’s Fashion Friday!

We are all dressed up for my little sister’s graduation!  Master’s that is.  They had the graduation in downtown Phoenix and then we went and celebrated later a Gallo Blanco.

I’m wearing a blue and white striped top I bought at forever 21, a black sequin pencil skirt, sandals, and Jeannie Richard band ring and earrings  (the one’s in our giveaway!).  The band ring and earrings are made out of beads and are super fun for dressing up.  They are all black, except the earrings have some gold beads in them.  They are a nice addition to any outfit, not just a semi-dressy one. (If you like them go and buy a pair at Jeannie Richard because they’re having a Post-FAB 25% sale till May 31, code POSTFAB25 at checkout).

On Jax, black gap pants, and blue babies-r-us polo he got from his auntie (the one I mentioned about the graduation and celebration at Gallo Blanco) the four above pics were taken at Gallo Blanco, out back in their pool area.  It’s a very retro, older style hotel.  The food is this amazing, fresh southwestern style food.  I would love to go back and stay there some time or take more pictures!  In their pool area they have a waterfall glass wall that runs almost the length of the pool area.  It’s really beautiful.

Don’t forget to enter our mother’s day giveaway for a chance to win all of our mother’s day’s goodies, plus these ones that I’m wearing in the pictures!

Hope you all have an amazing mother’s day!  I know I will no matter what it is as long as it involves my son!

ENJOY! ash

Featured Etsy Shop: Breelzebub

One of my loves is vintage and thrift-store shopping.  In Portland we have a goodwill called “The Bins” where all goodwill stuff goes to die (or this is how me and my friend Althea explain it to people).  Basically, in any of the goodwill stores around Portland if stuff has been on the shelf too long it gets shipped over to The Bins, a huge warehouse, and place in gigantic rolling bins by type of item (clothes, shoes, housewares, etc) – stuff is sold for about 0.50USD per pound.  It’s quite the deal.

Anyway, going to The Bins and thrifting is my “go-to” on the weekends so it’s no surprise that when we found this shop, Breelzebub, and it had vintage Bert and Ernie dolls for our giveaway, I HAD to look around.

Breanna has such cool, kitschy stuff . . . and clearly she also has talent radiating from her little fingers because not only does she have thrifted stuff, she also has her own handmade jewelry (much of it from vintage items), as well as artwork!  Just look at these 1980s-esque chain earrings.

Maybe we can convince her to donate some for Ashley’s Friday Fashion posts! *hint, hint*

Breanna got her start working in the real estate industry for the last 6 years but she decided to finally “do her own thing” and started her Etsy store last August (lucky for us!).   She actually got started by selling her original handcrafted jewelry and artwork and ended up going through all her old toys, clothes and other vintage items she had around. I’m not sure if this reversible clutch purse used to be hers but . . . I’m in love!

I love this little vintage find and know it would go great with many of my summer outfits!

Breanna told us, “once I started listing other “stuff”, things became really fun!!! My mother and I have always loved thrift shopping and now it’s even more fun when I find something to offer in my store.  It’s a great feeling when someone thousands of miles away finds something they like and you can make them happy by sending them that one little item.  I’ve been fortunate enough to ship all over the world, Australia, Spain, Kuwait and Japan (just to name a few) and it’s been awesome!”

But of course what drew us to her shop were the kitschy and vintage toys there!  Bert and Ernie were too much to pass up and we’re SO lucky she decided to donate them for Jax’s Birthday Giveaway, but I’m also in love with this little vintage red deer:

Oh my he would be perfect in some kitschy nursery!

Remember my Wednesday Wants: Woodland Nursery? Wouldn’t he be perfect on a shelf or something (especially if you wanted to give it a little more of a 70s/60s vibe?).

I’m also loving this little roller girl but maybe that’s because Dee is really into windup toys right now:

Breanna hopes is that someday her little store will be big enough to financially support her and possibly help her move to a warmer state (“the weather is absolutely miserable here, bleck”).  So, you know, help her out with that warmer state thing and go purchase one of her cute little toys at Breelzebub already!
